Finalist for the History Education Dissertation Prize

Dr. Sara Karn (Postdoctoral Fellow, McMaster University) attended the EuroClio – European Association of History Educators conference in Brussels from April 27-29, 2026. Her dissertation, “Perspectives on Historical Empathy for History Education in Canada: Purposes, Problems, and Possibilities,” was a finalist for the History Education Dissertation Prize, which recognizes research with practical value for history educators.

Dr. Karn presented her research on historical empathy to history educators from across Europe and around the world in the Hemicycle at European Parliament.
